WHO WE ARE
Social Media Lawsuit is a project started by an ordinary person, Eric Majors who has experienced and suffered from his use of Facebook along with millions of other user in the ways described on this website.  It is the intention of Eric Majors to file suit for damages first against Facebook and then other irresponsible social media businesses in order to reign in Tech and Media Giants and hold them accountable for the damage that they’ve already done to millions of people.  Facebook is increasingly and openly operating in fraudulent and unethical ways.  Facebook and other businesses like them have become Anti-Social Media businesses who cancel some in favor of others and wield their awesome power completely unrestrained like a child who found a loaded gun in their fathers closet.  Instead of acting in good faith in order to add to the experience of peoples lives, Facebook is unleashing Software Algorithms in an attempt to use their platform to control and manipulate and influence people all around the world, even people who do not use Facebook in order to attempt to mold the world according the the whims and undisclosed agenda’s of the owners and management of Facebook.  Facebook’s irresponsible social experimentations are causing extortionary mental, physical and spiritual  damage and anxiety to people, businesses, societies and governments around the world and as such Facebook has literally become one of the first Anti-Social Platforms and has risen to the level of a Menace to Public Health.

OUR PURPOSE

Social media platforms have demonstrated great potential and utility for people around the world to communicate and share ideas.  Unfortunately there are many serious, negative side effects that results in anti-social behavior associated with the use of certain social media platforms, such as Facebook that harmfully disrupt individuals, groups and society at large as experienced by users of the system and as documented by science.

Big Tobacco was sued and forced to change the way that they did business because of the health risks associated with use of tobacco and smoking. Today Big Tech, in particular Social Media and Facebook is causing far worse damage to peoples physical and mental health than tobacco and cigarettes have ever caused. It’s time that Social Media giants be forced to pay for the damage that they have caused and that they are continuing to cause and change their operations in a way that reduces their manipulation of peoples lives, bias and censorship according to the whims of irresponsible management.

Recently, many top level executives and insiders in the social media industry have quit their jobs and have gone public in order to warn society about the threats to health and general welfare posed by Facebook and other social media platforms, media and tech giants. These former insiders are warning that Facebook is using Algorithms and Artificial Intelligence (AAI) to produce specific outcomes in commerce, politics, health and even science by controlling what users see and hear in a direct attempt to manipulate peoples beliefs and behaviors.  What is worse is that it appears that it is entirely unclear to anyone, including the management of Facebook exactly how bad the negative impacts are on the minds and lives of Facebook users who are being subjected to manipulation by Facebook management and their use and deployment of AAI in order to maximize monetary profit and shape society according to their vision.

The problems associated with use of Facebook are so pronounced that even ordinary people are able to observe the threats to health and welfare associated with use of the social media platform. Theses threats include anti-social behavior, physical disease as well as mental and behavioral disorders that effect individuals, family units, society and government in negative ways that are observable and in other ways that are not completely understood by anyone more than the management of Facebook.  Ordinary people are experiencing how use of Facebook is causing individual, group and civil unrest that has lead to increase in unhealthy and anti-social behavior including the addiction to the social media, breakdown of the family unit, reclusiveness, low self esteem, suicides, drug abuse, acts of violence, extortion, hostility, radicalization, provocative protests, riots, sex crimes, human trafficking, mental manipulation, physical assaults and murder and a host of other crimes. In fact the negative effects that result from the use of Facebook (and other social media platforms) is so voluminous and pervasive that it is hard to measure without access to the root of the platforms and their design that is only available to the management of Facebook and remains secret to the rest of society.

The damage caused to individuals and society by the ignorant business management, censorship and irresponsible deployment of AAI by Facebook and other organizations is plain for all to see.  It is time to make Facebook and it’s management wake up, take responsibility for their manipulation of people, change course, develop ethical standards, and start to pay for the damage that they are obviously causing by using these highly unstable, untested, unstudied AAI and associated technology in an attempt to reshape commerce and the human race according to their own personal inclinations that are unknown to Facebook users or anyone else.  It is time for the legislative branches of the United States to create laws that force adherence to ethics standards that prevent social media companies from subjecting users to AAI and random and anxiety causing censorship without the option for people to turn off their the AAI that may be running on their accounts.  The U.S. Government must also re-enact laws that prevent the U.S. Government and their associated agencies from engaging in propaganda or misinformation campaigns that target U.S. citizens in any way.

Please join us in our first lawsuit against the irresponsible social media giant Facebook.  We are ordinary people, professionals and businesses that have been damaged as a result of the irresponsible management of the Facebook social media platform and business.
